Decorative Epoxy Garage Concrete Floor Old Kinderhook Camdenton MO

This is a basic two-car garage in a new construction home, our plan was to turn it into a Decorative Epoxy Garage Floor, but the garage was in great shape all we needed to do was come in and remove paint and drywall mud, we pulled out the walk behind and hand grinders and went to work profiling the entire surface, once we had the garage floor profiled the way we needed it to be we cleaned it up with muriatic acid, ammonia water and pressure washed it, then we set the fans so that it could dry out for the night.IMAG1482

We came back the next day set up our canopy because it looked like rain, we started to mix our base coat and it started to sprinkle…. after that but we kept moving forward we got our colored epoxy coat down once that coat was down I put on my spike shoes and grabbed my vinyl chips that we pre-filled in a 5 gallon bucket, I ran to the front of the garage with my chips and continued to broadcast out the vinyl chips at 100% coverage making sure that everything was completely caked on and saturated. Once the vinyl chips were down the only thing left to do was to clean up let the floor cure out and come back the next day.

The next day we scraped the floor flat removing all loose chips and made sure everything was consistent, once this step was done it was time to mix up the clear epoxy and apply it, the application was a smooth process and it came out great so we cleaned up and went home.

The next day we came back put on two coats of wax and this job is good to go!!

Decorative Concrete Antique Acid Stained Condo Deck Lake Ozark, MO

This week we were down Horseshoe Bend in Lake of the Ozark, MO… This project was pretty simple once we got past the Epoxy that was put on the outside suspended deck, it was on there pretty good…. the grinders we used did a great Job as usual, but so did the muscle behind the grinder, we always win so this deck coating really had no chance haha

Grinding the Epoxy off we did start to see more and more cracks appear, these cracks were not repaired before the epoxy went on so most of the cracks never showed up until the Epoxy was coming off, looks like the material just filled in the area’s where cracks were present, so now the coating is off we had to open up the cracks some to remove loose material so we could fill it with our crack repair material… Awesome stuff works GREAT!!IMAG1991

Cracks are repaired now it was time to start the overlay, we laid out our base coat of charcoal colorant, it looked great, the next day we came back and started taping the pattern, on this one we hand taped a Ashler slate type pattern, once we got the look we wanted we had to prep up the walls and railing from any over spray of concrete material, next was what we call the tack coat…its a layer that goes over the fiber tape to help keep the top coat from bleeding under the fiber tape, we do NOT want that to happen. ok Tack coat is sprayed on… time to go home for the day.

The next day we came in and started out texture coat which IS the most popular of texture coats that we do “THE TUSCAN SLATE” so we get that coat on once dry we pull the tape and clean it up… looks great!

Next step was to make sure everything is still taped up well from over spray but this time it was not going to be over spray from Concrete, now its time for the Antique Acid Stain, once I mixed it up checked to make sure everything was covered I started spraying it on with my pump up sprayer, we had to do a few coats till I got the look I was after… done let it sit and do its thing.

Looks great so now we need to pick out random squares to hand paint with sponge brushes two different colors one Slate grey Antique Acid (slight blueish tint) and a grey that was pretty standard just a medium grey… a lot of this is shown in the Video at the bottom of this page or click the Red Video Tab at the Top to watch it. So now we have all the squares colored that we want, again this was just random no real pattern, just wanted it to look kinda proportioned.

Ready for SEALER!!… we mixed up our premium sealer and laid down 2 coats with a roller, pretty simple the only thing left was to shoot the final Video and take some pictures and this Job was DONE!!

Firestation Epoxy Garage Floor Crocker MO

First off I want to thank the Crocker Fire-station for calling me about his project Last fall, this project has been a long time in the works, a lot more for them than myself, but it all came together this year and Congratulations to them the New Fire-station looks great and you guys deserve it!

We came in the first day to get all our prep work done, this was a great slab of concrete and it had a few minor cracks we had to repair and but other than that the floor was in great shape, but of course we still had to shot blast it and get it ready for the Epoxy coating that was to come.

1966885_10152520762607545_3772672863930365408_nIt took us about 2 days to get it all prepped and ready for the Epoxy but we got-er done, once we had it ready for Epoxy we mixed up our first batch and started laying it down, it took all day for just one coat…this place is HUGE about 3800sqft and it was just the 2 of us. we came back and did a second coat the next day…once again an all day deal.

Now that we had the 2 coats on it was time to lay out the Yellow colored Traffic Strips so we broke out the tape measures and Tape and started in at like 3am in the morning the next day, we were running a little low on sleep for this one but we got it done and we were headed home by 11am.

Garage Epoxy Floor Looks Like Granite Glass in Lake Ozark MO

Back again this week with a Garage floor makeover, the homeowner had a garage floor that was less than appealing, the epoxy coating that was previously placed started to peel, chip, scratched and marred up with tire marks… it seen better days for sure.IMAG1364

Enter Custom Concrete Design we came in took that Old Epoxy off and gave it a SUPER Nice Granite Looking Glass Shine.

Day one as always is our prep work we came in with our grinders and got rid of that ugly looking, non sticking, peeling everywhere marked up Epoxy floor, cleaned and got it back to its original concrete….now its good to go!

Once we had the entire floor profiled and cleaned we started the base coat of colored Epoxy, applied with our Magic Squeegee then back rolled it to even the Epoxy out, we had our chips ready and my spike shoes and out on the floor I went tossing Vinyl Chips like I was feeding the chickens, up in the air to see them drizzle down onto the floor like confetti!!

Next was the clean up… the next day we came in and scraped all the loose chips and removed them from the floor, by the way I always throw my chips out at a 100% coverage this insures a complete and even looking floor, never a flaw with this consistent method. ok now were ready for the Clear UV resistant Epoxy, the coloring in the chips will really pop once this clear Epoxy goes down and the floor will have the appearance of Granite Glass, so just like the base coat we squeegee the Epoxy and back roll….is this floor done??… nope not with out a Protective coat of Urethane to protect the Epoxy.

Our Client was thrilled with his New Granite Glass Floor, its a glass floor you can drive on!!

Concrete Overlay Coating over Aggregate Surface Lake Ozark MO

This one was a whole lotta grinding, back in the 80’s the aggregate look was in, but not in 2014!! – We started the job with 3 days of grinding the entire surface down to a manageable level, but we still needed to build it up a little.

Once the grinding was completeIMAG1287, the cracks were open and repaired it was time to pressure wash and get it cleaned up for the next steps, the concrete overlay base coat we put it down by troweling it on with a magic trowel. The verticals we sprayed through a Hopper gun.

Now that our 2 base coat’s were in place we had to put down our top coat, once that was in place all that was left was to seal it all down with our Acrylic Sealer, we did add some shark grip additive to the sealer to give it some slip resistance, other than that it was a big job, but pretty simple in procedure.
